BENZALKONIUM CHLORIDE TASTE MASKING GRANULES
Benzethonium chloride appears as odorless white crystals or powder with a very bitter taste. Benzyldimethylamine is quaternized by a 2-[p-(2, 4, 4-trimethylpentan-2-yl) phenoxy] ethoxyethyl group in benzethonium chloride, a (synthetic) quaternary ammonium salt, with chloride serving as the counter-ion. It works as an antiseptic and disinfectant to kill a variety of bacteria, fungi, moulds, and viruses. It functions as a medicine that is antiseptic, disinfecting, antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal. It consists of an aromatic ether, a chloride salt, and a quaternary ammonium salt. Benzalkonium chloride (BAC): BAC is a wide spectrum quaternary ammonium antibacterial agent that has been used in various dental composites.
