MUSHROOM EXTRACT TASTE MASKING GRANULES
Most mushrooms have a stalk, also called a stem, and a cap, which is generally disc-shaped. On the underside of the cap, especially in edible species you find at the supermarket, you may see a series of closely spaced slits, called gills. The main carbohydrates are chitin, glycogen, trehalose and mannitol. Cis-Linoleic acid was the major fatty acid detected in all species. Mushrooms are a rich, low calorie source of fiber, protein, and antioxidants. Mushroom extracts are used to promote human health and are found as dietary supplements. Hallucinogenic mushrooms are available in fresh form, treated/preserved (e.g. deliberately dried, cooked, frozen) or even as dry powders or capsules. The fungi containing psilocybin and psilocin mainly belong to genuses Psilocybe, Panaeolus and Copelandia and their number exceeds 50 species. Most of the mushrooms containing psilocybin are small brown or tan mushrooms.
